Thickness Detection of Transparent Materials

Laser Displacement Sensor

1.png

Transparent objects such as glass, clear plastics, and optical films are notoriously difficult to detect using conventional sensors. Standard photoelectric and vision systems often fail due to light transmission, low reflectivity, and refraction effects—resulting in unstable signals, frequent false detections, and costly production downtime.

Our high-accuracy CMOS laser displacement sensor is engineered to overcome these limitations by utilizing precision laser triangulation and advanced CMOS signal processing. It accurately captures even minimal reflected light from transparent surfaces, delivering consistent, high-resolution measurements regardless of material clarity or environmental lighting variations.

This allows engineers to achieve stable presence detection, precise positioning, and reliable thickness or gap measurement—eliminating rework, improving yield, and ensuring consistent product quality in high-speed automated lines.
